My name is Jacqueline, but feel free to call me JAH. I am a certified Birth Doula, and currently training to become certified in Childbirth Education and pain therapy. I am Holistic and Naturopathic leaning but will never hesitate to use Integrative care and work excitedly alongside your Primary Care Provider whether in or outside of the hospital system.
I was led into birth work through my own birth and the birth of my daughter. My mother and I have such contrasting birth stories! I experienced an awesome birth with high level care and a thorough attention to detail. It changed the way I viewed pregnancy, labor, and birth, and I wanted to replicate that for as many women as possible. Our birth stories are an intricate part of our parenting foundation. A safe birth with attentive staff, and high level care can lead to a lifetime of great memories with your child(ren). Our birth stories stick with us, let’s make sure the best story gets told. I have happily assisted 70 babies and counting into the world.
My mission is to help lower the birth mortality rates of Black women and children. Black and Native women experience death associated with birth related complications at 3-4x higher than women of other demographics. Access to healthcare, information, and active support from birth workers across all communities can help change and save lives.
I am passionate about working in my own community but welcome parents of all creeds to inquire about my services!
